With the rapid and dynamic changes in the global apparel trade, the Indian apparel industry is poised for a new growth trajectory in future. Although the future holds immense growth opportunities for the apparel trade, there are severe hallenges posed by the intense competition and the downward pressure on prices coupled with the urgent need to enhance productivity. This changed scenario has led to an increase in demand for professionals trained in modern and advanced manufacturing systems and techniques by the apparel industry.

Post-Graduate Diploma in Garment Manufacturing is designed as an extensive course that provides the students with a firm grounding in advanced apparel manufacturing technology.

The course is modular, with core and elective modules present at various stages of the program. Where the core modules are career focused, the support and elective modules provide the students with an upper hand, for understanding the international commercial aspects of working of the industry. During the second semester, learning concentrates on the holistic understanding and skills significant to production. The students will therefore gain a systematic understanding of the most recent technology in the national and international domain including the CAD, E.R.P. and other Information Technology tools. In Semester Three, the students will take their previous learning to a higher, complex and sophisticated stage of understanding. In Advanced Garment Manufacturing students engage in application through projects, and therefore, come to terms with reality of the world encompassing the complexities of supply-chain and financial management to handle business efficiently. Additionally the student will also get a chance to learn 'Entrepreneurship' and 'Project Management' so that he or she can launch their own business venture in future. In the last semester, students engage in their final work leading to the Post Graduate Diploma. This semester provides the maximum scope to the students to design their own final research brief and implement it successfully.

SYNTHESIS
At this forum, students display their final research projects to the business community in a highly professional setting. Recipients of 'Innovative Research Awards', 'Outstanding Research Award' and 'Practical Research Award' make formal presentations and address queries raised by industry members.

After this qualification, students are ready for excellent placement in domestic retail as well as export sector as:
