Entrepreneurship for the Creative Industries
Programme Leader Ms. Nandita Abraham & Mr. Joseph Sam
Duration One Year
Timing 3 days a week for 3 hrs,
(Mon, Wed & Fri),
4.15 pm - 7.15 pm
Eligibility Graduate in any discipline from a recognized Board / University
Fees Students have to pay 'Rs 1,25,000.00 ['Rs 1,00,000/- (Course Fee) + 'Rs 25000/-
(Registration Fees)] + Service Tax (10.3%) for Post Graduate Certificate Programme.

Admission criteria :
Admission into this programme will be through an interview process focus on the candidate's interest to start or run a business.

Course Content :
This programme concentrates on developing entrepreneurial & business skills that are appropriate to the creative industries. It will mentor potential entrepreneurs through the processes of business ideation and evaluation including feasibility. During the course of this programme the students will cover the following:

 
  • Understanding the landscape of entrepreneurship
  • Changes in the nature of the decisions over the lifecycle of an enterprise
  • Understanding stakeholder needs
  • Environment analysis & business plan development
  • Financing the venture
  • Understanding legal issues
  • Post entry entrepreneurial issues
  • Managing risks and rewards of entrepreneurship
  • Developing & managing a network
  • Managing growth

The programme is divided into three sections :-
1. Ideation
2. Project Development
3. Incubation

The programme has been structured in a modular manner covering areas of:

Semester Module Wise

Semester I

 
  • Developing an idea
  • Innovation & opportunity analysis
  • Fundamentals of business planning
  • Defining your market and marketing yourself
  • Pricing your product and/or services
  • Basic business finance & record keeping
  • Corporate structures, entities and government/ NGO bodies supporting entrepreneurship(including business laws)



Semester II

 
  • Intellectual capital and contracting
  • Knowing your market
  • Brand building and communicating your brand
  • Business valuation
  • Creative industries people management
  • Project and event management
  • Understanding successful creative businesses
  • Negotiation and networking
  • Business planning
